One of the best family-friendly pubs you will find

If you live close to or visit Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast, you must visit Chancellors Tavern. In terms of family-friendly venues, they don’t get any better. It’s the perfect place to meet for a great meal or a drink and is jam-packed with fun and entertainment for all ages.

The beer garden at Chancellors Tavern is one of the best we’ve seen. There is so much fun to be had, not just for the kids but also for the whole family. There is a great outdoor playground, however it’s the game lanes that provide the most entertainment, especially for the biggest kids (the adults). The two lanes are situated in the beer garden itself, and with the option of cornhole or skittles, there are hours of family fun to be had.

Open every day, it is a modern pub with a whole host of features and facilities. It boasts a new bistro serving pub classics with tropical and Sunshine Coast-inspired dishes. It also has one of the best outdoor beer gardens you’ll find anywhere, including a great kids’ playground and game lanes.

The kids’ play area is pretty impressive and includes climbing activities, tunnels, and a slide. It is close by to the beer garden seating, so whilst the kids have a ball, mum and dad can unwind with a nice relaxing meal and a drink.

Chancellors Tavern menu – Sunshine Coast-inspired dishes

Chancellors Tavern has put its own locally inspired spin on a modern pub classic menu. Expect to see some familiar dishes with a little tropical or Sunshine Coast flair. The Mooloolaba Parmy, topped with Mooloolaba Prawns, is a great example of one of the many parmy options available.

Some great starter and sharing dishes include Cuban Pulled Beef Nachos, pork belly burnt ends, and chicken nibbles in Peking sauce. As you would expect, there is a great range of seafood options, including XXXX beer-battered fish and chips and seafood linguini. There are plenty of options from the grill, with many steaks and burgers available, not to mention pizzas.

Most of the meals are in the $18 to $25 range, with some of the seafood and steak options up around the $30 to $40 price range.

The bar serves local craft and standard beers on tap and in bottles. You will also find red and white wine, by the glass and by the bottle, spirits and cocktails. Grab yourself a cold one, sit in the beautiful beer garden and enjoy the sunshine.

Chancellors Tavern kids’ menu

The kids’ menu is pretty standard, and the meals are all $10 each. Dishes include chicken nuggets with chips, a beef burger and chips, and kids’ pizza. What we thought was quite nice is that these meals also come with a small side of vegetables. It’s not often you find kids’ pub meals with much nutritional value, so it’s quite refreshing to see.

The other dishes include battered fish and chips, spaghetti bolognese, and a dagwood dog. For dessert, they are offering a frog in a cup (jelly cup and Freddo Frog) or an ice cream cup, both of which are $2 each.

Your Mates Brewhouse in Warana is a great place to visit with kids. It has great food, craft beer, and a cool little kids’ playground. The Currimundi Hotel and Buderim Tavern also have fun playgrounds.
