If you’re looking for the perfect location for a Sunday session with the Family, then the Barrel at Clouds Winery ticks all the boxes. This stunning Winery is located in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland town of Maleny. It is the perfect place to enjoy some of the best wine and local produce that South East Queensland has to offer. And while mum and dad are soaking up the afternoon sunshine, the kids can let loose in the Playground. It is one of the best outdoor playgrounds you’ll find anywhere on the coast. There are so many activities and so much fun for them to have that they won’t want to leave.

The Barrel at Clouds is open 7 days and serves amazing food with an all-day lunch menu. They offer a delicious range of food options for just about everyone. Whether you’re looking for a light snack or something more substantial, they’ve got you covered. And for those craving something sweet, there is no doubt that you will be indulging in one of their delicious desserts. An outdoor natural playground for kids of all ages

Of course, the kid’s playground is our favourite feature, and we love its combination of aesthetics and functionality. It has a real earthy feel, which fits well with its surroundings. We love the use of the weathered silvered timbers, bark chip surface, and contrasting blue and yellow slides. To top it all off, standing tall as a giant centrepiece is an amazing wine barrel feature.

This playground has something for everyone. It features two slides, climbing activities, rope bridges, and Monkey bars, to name a few. The playground is fully enclosed and suitable for kids of all ages. Plenty of dining tables are in view, so you can keep an eye on the little ones. Trust us, your kids will be entertained for hours on end with this beauty!

Another cool feature of The Barrel is the giant chess game. This was probably our kids’ favourite activity at the winery. Even though they had no idea what chess was or how to play it, they loved moving the giant pieces around the board.

The Barrel at Clouds Vineyard wine list – The best wines in Queensland

We hope you’re into wines! It’s no surprise that there are plenty of wines on the menu at the Barrel. They offer a wide variety from all around South East Queensland, including reds, whites, and sparkling wines.

You will find wines from Granite Ridge, Whisky Gully, and Symphony Hill Wineries, some of the best in the region. Tasting flights consist of 4 x 40ml glasses. There are seven different wine combinations to choose from.

Do the Barrel at Clouds Vineyard serve beers?

The answer is yes, and they have some real beauties, too. The Barrel at Clouds showcases its own in-house range of craft beers, as well as beers from Brewdog and Glasshouse Brewery. For those looking for something a little sweeter, you will also find a selection of ginger beers and other refreshing fruity brews.

If those aren’t strong enough for you, don’t panic; the Beach Tree organic gin or vodka should do the trick. The beers and spirits are available on tasting paddles if you fancy a variety. The beers are served in 4 x 40ml, and the spirits in 3 x 10ml.

The Barrel’s menu includes a nice selection of delicious meals made with locally sourced produce, where possible. The main meals are priced in the $25-$30 range and include a good selection of burgers, salads, pasta, and seafood. The delicious grazing platters and cheese boards complement the wines beautifully. The Barrel at Clouds caters to most dietary requirements, offering gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan-suitable meals.

We thought the kids’ grazing platter was a clever idea. It includes grilled chicken strips, cheese, carrot sticks, celery, sultanas, dried apricots, crackers, and hummus. Other kid’s meal options include fish and chips, chicken nuggets, and a cheeseburger. These options are in the $14-$16 price range.
