Family-friendly picnic on the Noosa River foreshore
The grassy patch outside the Noosa Boat House Restaurant is a go to location for us during the warmer months. Situated on the beautiful Noosa River foreshore, it has a happening vibe and great fun for the entire family.
They have live music every Friday and Sunday afternoon and evening. Throw down a picnic rug and bring an esky with your favourite ice-cold beverages. Let the kids run wild, while you enjoy the amazing atmosphere, as the sun sets over the Noosa River. It really doesn’t get any better than this!
Keeping the kids entertained is easy and the options really are endless. They can play on the grass, as well as play on the sand, or even go for a swim. They can even bring their bikes or scooters to ride along the path, as well as have a boogie on the dance floor.
The only real negative would be that it’s a dry weather location, as there is no shelter if it rains.
Noosa Boat House menu – Take away fish and chips
The Noosa Boat House has a take away window, which serves up some of the best fish and chips you will find anywhere on the coast. You can choose either grilled or battered. The menu options are quite limited, however they also offer fresh prawns, salt and pepper calamari and potato scallops. They also have two kid’s meals for $14, which are fish and chips as well as calamari and chips.
Alternatively you might want to bring your own picnic, including snacks, as well as other food and drinks. If you have any specific dietary requirements, you may want to consider this your best option.
For drinks, they do have some available at the Boat House, however we recommend bringing your own.
TIP – On the beautiful summer days, look to get there early to get yourself a great spot. It can sometimes get quite busy later in the afternoon.
